In this lesson we'll go over how to navigate a sampling event work scope.

In the top left-hand corner of the detailed work scope view, you have the Project name, the date of the sampling event, and the site address. On the left side of the screen is the list of sample locations and it also indicates other QA/QC information at each sample location like, duplicates, MS/MSDs, field blanks, equipment blanks, and trip blanks.

Locations listed with blue icon’s are locations requiring field data only, and the orange icon’s indicate locations requiring a laboratory sample collected. You will also notice that “Total Contamination” listed below each sample location ID. If a numeric value is present, this represents the total amount of all contaminants found at this sample location the last time it was sampled.

At the top right in a dropdown menu, you can sort sample locations either from least contamination to the highest contamination or you can re-sort alphanumerically.

At the top right side you will see a “Custody” button. This button will bring up the “Chain-of-custody” feature of the application which allows you to generate, manage, track and transfer custody of samples collected throughout the event. You can learn the functionality of this feature in greater detail in a separate video.

Next to the custody button to the right, is an Arrow pointed upwards. If this Arrow is “Green”, this indicates that all collected data on the mobile device has been uploaded to the cloud and matches the data on the device perfectly. If the arrow is “Yellow”, it means there is data on the device that has not yet been uploaded to the cloud. To upload the work scope data on the device and sync to the cloud, simply click the arrow. The device will have to be connected to the internet for it to work. Once synced to the cloud, the arrow will again turn “Green”.

The vertical ellipsis (3-dots) to the right of the sync button, will bring up a dropdown menu containing data sharing, site information, settings, and the logout button. Each of these features is detailed in separate videos.

The entire right side of the screen is the map view showing you sample locations on a “Google Earth” type map. You can zoom in and out on this view and see each sample location based on input satellite GPS coordinates. You can also switch from the satellite view, to either a road map view, or an uploaded site map view.

At the very bottom of the left side sample location list, is a “Plus” button. This plus button allows the users to add new un-scheduled sample locations and testing parameters in the sampling work scope. This feature is illustrated in greater detail in a separate video.
