In this video we're going to go over how you can be assured that your data on your device has been securely synced and stored in the cloud.

Once you open your project and before you've done any data collection at all, you will see a green arrow at the top right-hand corner of the project home screen. This green arrow indicates that it has compared the data on your device against the project data in the cloud and it’s determined that it matches perfectly.

Once you start collecting data on your device, this arrow will turn yellow, indicating that you now have data on your device that no longer exactly matches the data in the cloud the last time it checked. If you are not connected to the cloud, it will remain yellow indicating that the data on the device has not yet been pushed to the cloud and the data match comparison function has yet to occur.

If you are connected to the Internet using a mobile connected device, local Wi-Fi or maybe your cellular hotspot, your data connection will update continuously. This arrow will alternate from yellow to green as you collect data, and the data is then synced and compared to the data in the cloud. This updating function maybe delayed based on Internet connectivity speeds at your location.

To force an update to the cloud and assure data cloud storage, simply tap the arrow and it will manually start the syncing process. The speed of this process will depend on the volume of data being synced since the last update, and the speed of your current Internet connection. This process can take several minutes. Once a green arrow is returned, you can rest assured that your data has been securely transferred to the cloud and is ready for project manager review or reporting.

It is recommended to sync your data periodically and as soon as possible upon the completion of an event.
