In this lesson we'll go over how to auto-generate a sample location map using GPS coordinates.

Once you have your GPS coordinates for all your desired sample locations entered, click into the “Site Info” tab on the left. You will see the different Media types you have selected for the project. For this example, we are going to use groundwater, however, all the media types behave and function similarly.

Click into “Site Maps” and a list of existing site maps will appear. To create the new auto-generated map using GPS coordinates, click the “New Groundwater Site Map” icon on the top right. A new screen will appear. Name your new sitemap whatever you desire and then check the “Use A Satellite Image” box and then click the orange “Create Sitemap” button. This will auto generate a satellite sitemap with the sample locations automatically placed based on the input GPS coordinates. You can edit the new sitemap sample locations and icons using the editing techniques previously discussed in other videos.

Please note: the map will automatically have a standard uniform margin around the sample location array. This configuration may create an irregular shape to the image based on the input coordinates of the sample locations.

That is how you auto-generate a sample location map using GPS coordinates.
