Creating Customer Tags

Create customer tags (e.g., “VIP”, “Employee”) and assign them to customers—either from the Customers module or on the fly during checkout.

Use cases

- VIP tracking so staff can offer perks, or prioritize special orders.

- Employee or Staff discounts so discounts can auto-apply.

- Age-restricted sales – tag “21+ Verified” drinkers so cashiers don’t need to re-check IDs at every visit.



Step-by-step instructions

A. Create a new tag

1. Click Customers in the left navigation bar.

2. At the top, click Tags.

3. In the pop-up, tap Create, type the tag name (e.g., VIP), then tap Create again.

B. Assign a tag from the customer profile

1. Still in Customers, search and select a customer.

2. In the Tags section, choose the newly created tag.

3. Tap Save (top-right)—the profile updates.

C. Assign a tag during checkout

1. On the Checkout screen, add (or search) the customer.

2. Tap Edit next to their name—this opens the same profile editor.

3. Select the tag in the tag section, then tap Save—return to checkout and complete the sale.
