Penny Rounding

Penny Rounding for Cash Transactions

With the retirement of the penny, you may no longer be able to give exact change on cash transactions that don't end in $0.00 or $0.05. Santé's Penny Rounding feature automatically adjusts cash transactions to the nearest nickel.

How to Enable

  1. Go to Settings → Store Settings

  2. Enable Penny Rounding

How It Works

When enabled, cash transaction totals are automatically rounded up to the nearest $0.05.

Note: This only applies to cash payments. Card, check, gift card, and loyalty points transactions are unaffected.

Split Payments

  • Cash as the final payment: The remaining amount rounds up to the nearest nickel automatically

  • Cash as the first payment: Enter a whole dollar amount or one ending in $0.00 or $0.05

Refunds

Cash refunds also round up to the nearest nickel, ensuring customers receive the correct change.
