Cost Markup Promotion

Cost Markup Promotions let you automatically price products based on your cost plus a set markup. This is perfect for employee discounts and wholesale pricing.

Common Use Cases

  • Employee discounts — Sell to staff at cost + 5%

  • Wholesale customers — Offer pricing at cost + $2.00

  • Selling items at cost

How to Create a Cost Markup Promo

  1. Go to PromotionsAutomated Promos

  2. Click Create Promo

  3. Under "The promotion applies to," select Cost Markup

  4. Configure your settings:

    • Cost type: Choose how cost is calculated (Average Cost, Last Cost, or FIFO)

    • Increase by: Set a percentage (e.g., +10%) or dollar amount (e.g., +$2.00)

    • Round up to $0.99: Optionally round prices up (e.g., $10.39 → $10.99)

  5. Set which products are eligible using categories, tags, or specific items

  6. Save your promo

Important Notes

  • If a product doesn't have a cost recorded, the promo won't apply to that item

  • You can exclude products that already have a promo price

  • Available for in-store, online, or both channels
