Creating Custom Products

Updated over 4 months ago

If a product you want to list isn’t available under All Verified Products, or if you’d like more control over how an existing Saucey product appears on your storefront, you can create a custom product.

Custom products allow you to add or edit details such as photos, descriptions, titles, and categories—giving you full control over how items are presented to customers.

Option 1: Copying from All Verified Products (Recommended)

If the product already exists in Saucey’s catalog, you can copy it from All Verified Products and convert it into a custom product.

This option is ideal if you want to:

  • Add or replace a product image

  • Update or personalize the product description

  • Adjust the product title or display category

  • Maintain the existing Saucey product data while customizing its presentation

How it works

  1. Navigate to Products

  2. Open All Verified Products

  3. Locate the product you want and click the three dots to the right

  4. Select the option to Create Custom Product to copy the product

  5. The copied item will now appear as a custom product, where you can freely edit supported fields

Option 2: Creating a Custom Product from Scratch

If the product does not exist in All Verified Products, you can create a custom product manually.

  1. In the Products section, click Create Product

  2. This will load a separate product creation page

  3. Enter the product details using the fields provided

Enter the information for the product you wish to create based on the fields that are shown:

  • Saucey Category: Used for tax compliance.

    • Select the category that is closest to the product you are adding.

  • Display Category: The category you want it displayed under your website.

    • You can assign it to custom categories, or ones that you've renamed.

  • Brand: Used for filtering by brand at the top of categories. (Not shown in the product details)

  • Product Name: Include the Brand and the type/flavor.

    • eg. Marlboro Reds 101's Special Edition

  • Volume/Size of the product.

    • eg. Pack, 6 pack, 2 oz, 750 ml, 1 L, etc.

  • UPC:Best to include leading zeros and the last check digit.

    • eg. 081174693810

If you are adding a product that's part of an existing set (i.e. new flavor) it's best to follow the same naming convention (Product Name & Volume) for consistency.

As you type in the information, you will see a preview of the product at the bottom left. You can click between the different preview screens to understand how it would display.

Editing Custom Products

You can edit a custom product by going to the Products section and clicking Custom Products at the top.

  1. Click the pencil icon

  2. Then click the edit icon

Publishing to Multiple Locations

If you need to publish to all locations, you can un-publish, and use Bulk Edit to re-publish to multiple locations at once.
