If you and your spouse are setting up a domicile or need mail forwarding services, here’s what you need to know:

Declaration of Domicile

Declaration of Domiciles can be completed jointly. Before you begin your notary session on the online notary platform, you will be given the opportunity to "add recipient." Press this button and enter the email of your spouse. Your spouse can then join the notary session.

USPS Form 1583

For USPS Form 1583, each person needs to complete this form separately, even if you share the same address. USPS regulations require individual forms for each person, meaning both you and your spouse need to have your own accounts and complete separate 1583 forms. This is essential for identity verification and mail forwarding authorization, as USPS does not allow two people to share a single form.

Why individual forms are necessary?

Completing separate forms for both the Declaration of Domicile and USPS Form 1583 ensures each person’s identity and residency status is independently verified. This approach maintains compliance with USPS and legal requirements, and it secures each person’s access to important mail and government correspondence.
