We are excited to introduce two major upgrades to your billing toolkit: E-Invoicing and Peppol Network Integration Add-On. While they work great together, they are two distinct features designed to help you get paid faster, reduce manual errors, and stay compliant with emerging government mandates.
E-Invoicing
So, what does E-Invoicing stand for? Most people think a PDF attached to an email is an "e-invoice." However, a PDF still requires your customer to manually type your billing details into their accounting system.
Our new E-invoicing feature generates your invoice as a secure, structured data file. Because the data is structured, it skips the email inbox and can be read and processed automatically by your customer’s accounting software.
Benefits of E-invoicing:
Reduced Errors: Eliminates the need for manual data entry, preventing typos and human error.
Faster Processing: Skips the manual approval bottleneck, helping you get paid faster.
Flexibility: Download the structured file to manually upload to specific government or corporate portals if required.
Note: XML order-related information are derived from the data provided by Shopify, and they are not connected to any of your custom visual templates.
Peppol Network Integration
What does Peppol Network Integration stand for? While the E-invoicing feature creates the structured data file, the Peppol Integration is how you deliver it securely across the globe.
Peppol is an international, secure network that connects different accounting systems. Think of it like a mobile phone network: you can call anyone in the world regardless of their provider, as long as you both have a phone number. If you and your customer are both on the Peppol network, you can send them an e-invoice directly, regardless of what accounting software they use.
Benefits of using Peppol:
Guaranteed Delivery: No more invoices lost in spam filters. Peppol provides secure, encrypted delivery with confirmation.
Global Reach: Connect seamlessly with millions of businesses across the Peppol network.
Government Compliance: Many countries now mandate the use of the Peppol network for Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions.
Note: Orders transmitted through Peppol use a strict, standardized data format required by the network. Because of this, they are not connected to any of your visual invoice templates, and custom designs (like logos or layout colors) will not be sent to the receiver.
