Congratulations on completing your merge recommendations and fraud checks! Now it’s time to manually review the submissions to ensure nothing was overlooked. This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Access Submissions

  1. Navigate to Submissions: Start by going to the Submissions section.

  2. Organize Submissions: You can choose to review submissions starting from the top or by navigating through different categories. For ease of review, we recommend organizing the submissions alphabetically by submission name. This allows for a more straightforward comparison and reduces the chance of missing entries.

Step 2: Review Each Submission

  • Begin reviewing the submissions one by one. As you go through them, look for any discrepancies or issues:

    • Correct Spelling: Ensure all names and titles are spelled correctly. If you find an error, you can correct it using the merge function.

    • Use the Merge Function: If a submission contains a spelling mistake, click the Merge button. Select the correct spelling from the write-in option, then click Merge to overwrite the existing submission.

Step 3: Merging Submissions

  • If you find submissions that belong together:

    • Select Entries to Merge: Click on multiple entries that should be combined.

    • Choose the Correct Entry: Use the dropdown to select which entry should be displayed. For example, if you have “Jenny” and “Jenny L,” you would select “Jenny L” for the final display and click Next.

  • Repeat this process for similar entries. For example, if you come across different variations of “Jenny’s Jams,” select all relevant entries and merge them into the correct one.

Step 4: Deleting Incomplete Submissions

  • If you encounter submissions that are incomplete:

    • Select and Delete: Choose the submission you want to delete and click the Delete button. Confirm by selecting Delete again when prompted.

Step 5: Continue Reviewing

  • Continue reviewing each submission, merging where necessary, and deleting any incomplete submissions.

  • For example, if you find “Pete Park” and “Pete’s Park,” merge them into “Pete’s Park” for consistency.

Final Checks

  • As you finalize your review, remember that a human eye is essential. Look for any last-minute spelling or categorization errors before transitioning from nominations to the voting ballot.
