Step 1: Log In

Go to bestof.cityspark.com and log in using your CitySpark credentials.
Once logged in, you’ll see your email address in the top-right corner and your publication name next to the Contact button.

Step 2: Access Your Photo Ballots

  • From the dashboard, select “View Photo Ballots.”

    • You can find this option either at the top of the page or in the left-hand navigation panel.

Step 3: Clone an Existing Ballot

  • In the top-right corner, click “Clone Ballot.”

  • A dropdown menu will appear—use it to select the photo ballot you’d like to clone.

  • Next, give your new ballot a name.

    • As you type, you’ll see the new ballot being created automatically.

Step 4: Choose What to Include in Cloning a Previous Ballot

You’ll now have a few options to customize what is copied from the original ballot:

  • Include Ads:

    • Leave this turned on if you’d like to copy any existing ads (such as presenting sponsors or display category ads) into your new ballot.

  • Import Pre-Populated Choices:

    • Turn this on if you’d like to import previously displayed photos from the original contest.

  • Voting Style:

    • You can skip this for now.

  • One Vote Per Day:

    • There’s a separate section to manage one-vote-per-day settings.

      • This feature allows voters to return daily and vote again for their favorite photo.

When you’re ready, click “Clone.”

Step 5: View and Edit Your New Ballot

Once cloned, your new ballot will appear under Photo Ballots.
Click “Edit” next to the new ballot to adjust the following settings:

  • Ballot Name

  • Groups and Categories (if applicable)

  • Submission Fee Settings

  • Submission Type:
Switch the ballot type to Photo Submissions, and select whether participants can upload a single image or multiple images.

After making your updates, click Save Ballot.

Step 6: Edit Groups and Categories

If you need to make changes to your groups or categories, select Ballot Builder.
This will open a view where you can edit or add new categories for your contest.

Step 7: Update Design and Settings

To finalize your new contest, review and update the following areas:

  • Design Settings:

    • Update your landing page information to reflect the new contest theme.

  • Submission Settings:

    • Add or adjust any custom submission fields or details specific to your new photo contest.

  • General Settings:

    • Upload a new background image

    • Add your Google Analytics tracking code

    • Update your meta tags and share information

    • Adjust your button text

    • You can also turn on “One Vote Per Day” here if you didn’t do so earlier.

    • Allow multiple submissions per user

      • This enables participants to upload more than one image per category

    • Allow UnAuthenticated Emails to Log In; However, we do not recommend enabling this feature, as it bypasses the email authentication process designed to verify that the user is registering a valid email address.

    • You can also update email opt-ins for this specific ballot in this section.

Once you’ve finished making your edits, click Save.

Step 8: You’re All Set!

Your cloned photo contest is now ready to use!
