Adding new groups and categories to your ballot is essential for organizing and presenting voting options effectively. While there's an automatic import option available, this guide will focus on manually adding groups and categories to your ballot for more control and customization.
Creating Groups:
Log in to your account associated with the voting platform.
Select the specific ballot to which you want to add groups and categories.
Once the ballot page is loaded, navigate to the left-hand side and click on the "Ballot Builder" option.
In the Ballot Builder section, locate the "New Group" button, usually found in the top-right corner.
Fill out the necessary fields for the group. The only required field is the group name.
Consider adding a group cover image for better presentation on the main voting landing page.
Optionally, add a group description to provide context for voters.
Once all information is filled out, click on "Create Group."
Creating Categories
From the Ballot Builder page, click into the group you’d like to create categories for.
To add categories, you can either quick-add by typing and hitting enter or use the "Add Category" button in the top-right corner.
Fill out the category details, including any supplemental text to provide additional information to voters.
Optionally, add pre-populated choices by clicking on the "Add Choice" button and entering the choices.
Click "Save" to save the category.
Once you've added all desired groups and/or categories:
Return to the Ballot Builder.
Verify that all groups and categories are correctly added.
Test the ballot to ensure that all added groups and categories appear as intended.
