Overview

Our new Business Registrations feature allows local business owners to ensure their business is accurately represented in Best of or Reader's Choice ballots. This is an excellent way to ensure your business name, location, and other details are correct, making it easier for your customers to nominate and vote for you.

Important Notes:

  • Registering your business does not guarantee placement on the final ballot. It only ensures your business details are correct for voters.

  • This registration process does not enroll you in advertising or any paid services.

  • Registration powers the nominations' type ahead feature, allowing voters to easily find your business. The auto-complete activates once they type three characters of your business name.

By registering your business, you take the first step to ensuring your business is ready for recognition and votes from the community!

Step-by-Step Guide to Business Registration:

  1. There are two ways to access the business registration form:

    • Navigate to the Category

    • Business Name (Required): Enter the full name of your business (e.g., Jenny’s Ice Cream Bonanza).

    • Nickname: This can be a shortened version of your business name (e.g., Jenny’s)

    • Location (Required): Provide the full address of your business.

    • Phone Number: Provide the phone number.

    • Profile Image (Required): Upload a 300x300 image, which could be your logo or a profile picture used for social media.

    • Website (Required) and Social Links (Optional): Include links to your website, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram so voters have more ways to find you.

Once the form is complete, click Next.

3. Select Relevant Categories

  • Choose the categories in which you want to compete. You can select multiple categories if they fit your business. For instance, you may pick "Best Ice Cream," "Best Gelato," and "Best Milkshake."

4. Submit Contact Information

  • After selecting your categories, the form will ask for information about the submitter.

  • This information is used by the media organization in case they need to reach out to you, especially if you win or move to the finalist round.

    • Name: Enter the submitter’s name.

    • Email: Provide an email address to verify the submission (a valid email is required).

5. Verify the Email

  • After submitting the form, a verification code will be sent to the provided email.

  • Enter the code into the verification box to complete the registration process.

  • This step ensures the legitimacy of the registration.

Once you've verified your email, your business registration is complete!

Managing Your Business Registration

  • Once registered, you can view and edit your submissions.

  • If you need to correct any details (e.g., fixing a typo in your business name), you can resubmit the form with the updated information.
