Scentech uses cold air diffusion technology, which means our diffusers release pure scent oil, without water or heat. This creates a powerful scent experience, but it can sometimes raise questions about safety – especially around children and pets. Below you'll find what to keep in mind for safe use.

Our scents are generally safe to use in households with children, as long as you follow a few guidelines. Because the oils are concentrated, we recommend setting a lower intensity in rooms where children are present. Also make sure there's good ventilation, and try not to run the diffuser for hours at a stretch.

For babies and young children (up to 6 years old), it's best to choose milder scents, such as Calming Lavender, Pure Blossom, Wild Blossom, or Garden Mist. These have soft scent notes and are pleasant to use.

We recommend using oils high in citrus, eucalyptus, peppermint, or clove with a bit more caution around young children, especially in smaller or poorly ventilated rooms. For children older than 6, you can usually enjoy the full scent range without worry, as long as you keep an eye on ventilation and intensity.

Animals have a much stronger sense of smell than humans, and some scents can be too intense or even unpleasant for them. This differs per animal:
