Notification Types in ScheduleDrop
ScheduleDrop supports four types of notifications that help streamline communication between admins, staff, providers, and customers:
Email Notifications
SMS (Text) Notifications
App Notifications
System Alerts
Let’s break each one down:
1. Email Notifications
Email notifications are included in all subscription tiers — Starter, Growing, and Premium.
These notifications are automatically sent to users when a key event occurs (like a new booking, job update, or cancellation). You can send email notifications to:
Admins
Staff
Providers
Customers
How to Enable Email Notifications:
To send emails, you’ll need to connect your domain through Mailgun:
Steps to Set Up Email (Mailgun Integration):
Go to Account Settings
Click Mailgun
Enter your subdomain (info.exampledomain.com) and click Submit
You’ll be shown DNS records to install on your domain host
5. Once verified, your account will be able to send email notifications
2. SMS (Text) Notifications
SMS notifications are available on Growing and Premium plans and allow you to send real-time messages directly to a user's phone number.
These notifications are sent via Twilio, and can be triggered by system events such as new bookings, task updates, job reminders, and more.
You can send SMS notifications to:
Admins
Providers
Customers
How to Connect Twilio:
To use SMS, you must connect your Twilio account. There are two options:
Option A: Use an Existing Twilio Account
Go to Account Settings > Twilio
Click Use Existing Account
Enter:
Account SID
API Key SID
API Secret Key
Click Connect Twilio
3. App Notifications
If they are created, app notifications appear directly inside the ScheduleDrop Provider and Admin App, notifying team members of:
New job assignments
Ratings or feedback
Reminders for upcoming jobs
These are delivered instantly in-app and are exclusive to Providers at this time.
Admins, staff, and customers do not currently receive app notifications.
