What is Twilio?
Twilio is a messaging platform that allows you to send and receive SMS and phone calls through third-party apps like ScheduleDrop. We integrate with Twilio to help automate reminders, confirmations, status updates, and more — sent directly to your customers and providers.
To use SMS inside ScheduleDrop, you'll need a Twilio account connected to your platform.
Step 1: Create Your Twilio Account
Go to the Twilio sign-up page and create a new account
Confirm your email address via the link they send
Verify your phone number by entering the code they text to you
After verification, you’ll be taken to a setup screen. You can skip any steps you’re unsure of — you can always adjust settings later.
Click “Get Started with Twilio” to finish setting up your dashboard.
Step 2: Set Up Twilio for ScheduleDrop
Get a Phone Number
To send SMS from ScheduleDrop, you need a Twilio phone number. Make sure you add a card on file in order to activate your account so you are not stuck in a trial account.
Go to Phone Numbers > Manage > Buy a Number
Search by area code, select a number, and click “Choose This Number”
Confirm to finish setup
Your new number will be listed under Phone Numbers > Active Numbers
Create an API Key
You’ll need your API credentials to connect Twilio to ScheduleDrop.
In Twilio, go to admin > Account management > Api Keys & Tokens
Click Create API Key
Fill in:
Friendly Name: Something like “ScheduleDrop Key”
Key Type: Main
Click “Create API Key”
Copy and securely store:
API Key SID
Secret Key
⚠️ You will not be able to view the Secret Key again later.
Step 3: Connect Twilio to ScheduleDrop
Now that you have your number and credentials, connect Twilio in ScheduleDrop:
Log into ScheduleDrop
Go to Account Settings > Twilio
Choose one of the following:
Option A: Use Existing Account
Paste the following values from Twilio:
Account SID (starts with “AC…”)
API Key SID
API Secret Key
Click Connect Twilio
You’re Done!
Once connected, you’ll see a confirmation in ScheduleDrop and can begin sending SMS messages based on booking events, task updates, reminders, and more.
Please Note: If your phone number is not A2P verified, you will not be able to send or receive text messages to your number
If you run into trouble during setup, contact us via the in-app chat or email support@scheduledrop.com for help.
