How do I keep my computer awake during uploads?

If you are uploading film, it's important you don't let your computer "go to sleep" or you might lose your upload progress.

How to keep macOS awake during uploads

macOS Catalina (10.15) or earlier

  1. Click System Preference in your dock

  2. Click Energy Saver

    • Note: If using a laptop, click Power Adapter

  3. Check on “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off”

macOS Big Sur (11.0) or later

  1. Click System Preference in your dock

  2. Click Energy Saver

    • Note: If on a laptop, click Battery, then Power Adapter

  3. Check on “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off”

How to keep Windows awake during uploads

  1. Click the Windows icon on the taskbar

  2. Click the magnifying glass to search

  3. Search for Sleep

  4. Click Power & sleep settings

  5. Under “Sleep” change “When plugged in, computer goes to sleep after” to Never
