While traveling for competition, teams usually are without the benefits of their home arena but still need to share and analyze film to get ready for the next game on their trip home.
This process has been creatively named, Skipping the Cloud. Users will need their Apple device of choice, SD card, import adapters, and a mobile hotspot to sync statistics.
Start the process by importing your SD card video to your MacBook or iPad. Similar to upload, importing is adding film to your device and attaching to your ScoreBreak event.
Tap the bottom right Film Management icon
Select + New Camera Angle button
Select the camera you used to record your game or practice
Select + Add Film Files to select the videos from your SD card to import
Do not select upload, this will be done when you are home from your travels
Next, connect this device to your mobile hotspot. Once connected trigger a sync with the ScoreBreak cloud to share statistics and camera angle data. Once synced, you can disconnect from the mobile hotspot.
On Mac: from the top menu select File, then Force Sync or use keyboard controls Command + R
On iPhone/iPad: pull down on the main menu screen
For additional devices, AirDrop from the original device or share the SD card video via import adapter. This will add the local video files to the Photos application on your device. On iPhone/iPad ScoreBreak needs permission to read these files from the Photos application. This can be found in the Settings application under Privacy, photos, ScoreBreak. Make sure ScoreBreak has permission to access All Photos.
Next, connect this device to your mobile hotspot. Once connected trigger a sync with the ScoreBreak cloud to share statistics and camera angle data. Once synced, you can disconnect from the mobile hotspot.
Finally, open your game and ScoreBreak will prompt you it found the local files in Photos. You can make cuts, and analyze film as usual. Once you arrive home, one device needs to upload this film to the ScoreBreak cloud for other teammates to see. It can then be deleted from the Photos app of subsequent devices to clear storage space.
