You can upload a new version of a video to Screenlight in a couple of different ways. The one that's best for you depends on whether you want to keep old versions around.

1. Upload new versions to the same project or folder

The simplest way to add new versions is to simply upload them into the same project or folder as the previous versions. Each version of a video will remain intact with its own set of comments.

If you send out links to specific videos, then you'll have to sent out a link to the new version when you are ready to share it with your clients. If you want to send out a single link that will show all versions, you can send out a link to a project or folder rather than links to individual files.

To minimize clutter and potential client confusion, you can move old versions and their comments into another folder so that the latest video that needs to be reviewed is front and centre.

2. Replace an asset

The second way to upload a new version is to replace an asset. When you do this, the original file is overwritten and is no longer available. The comments from the previous versions are carried over so that you can check to ensure that requested changes have been made.

Any links that you've created to a file will continue to work when you replace it. You can send your client a single link to a video and when they go to it, they'll always see the latest version.

To get started, go the the preview page for the video you want to replace and click the upload / replace asset icon. Select the new version and hit done.

The uploader will indicate that it's replacing a file.

After the upload is completed, we will begin processing the file so that it's viewable across a multitude of browsers and devices. While this is happening, people that try to view the file will receive a message "A new version of this file has been uploaded and is currently being processed for viewing".

When the new asset is ready, a notification will automatically be sent out to your project team to let them know there is a new video to review.
