First we click on the Menu on the upper right corner of the home page. Then we look for Manage Rubrics
On this page, you will see all the rubrics you currently have. To create a make one, simply click on New Rubric on the upper right corner.
This is where you will put all the information for your rubric such as...
rubric name
description
subject
grade/year level
feedback language
score ranges
If you are creating a rubric from scratch, you may simply type in all the information here yourself. However, you may already have an existing rubric you would like to use.
In that case, it’s as easy as copying the necessary information from your rubric and pasting it into Scribo.
Once all the info is in place, click on Save Rubric Info
After that, go to the left side of the page and click Criteria. Now this is where the rubric actually starts taking shape. Here you will put the different grading criteria of your rubric.
To start, simply click Add Criterion. Once again, if you’re making your rubric from scratch, you can go ahead and type in all the necessary information yourself. However, if you already have an existing rubric, you can once again just copy and paste.
First we put the title of the criterion, then a short description. If the criterion in your rubric does not have a description that’s alright, this part is completely optional.
Then we set the achievement levels of the criterion. These will dictate the score the student will receive based on their performance, where each achievement level corresponds to a score.
First we put the description of this level. Then, we assign the scores.
Earlier, we had the option of adding score ranges, this is where that comes in. If you chose to add score ranges, you will then have to put a range of scores for each achievement level.
However, if you chose not to add score ranges, then you'll have to put a definite score per achievement level.
You can also add an achievement label if you want a qualitative counterpart, for example: a letter mark or a description. But once again, this is completely optional.
After you’ve completed all achievement levels, you can click “Save Changes” in the bottom right corner. And there you go! The first criterion in your rubric. To add the rest of the criteria, just repeat the same steps until you’re done.
Once all the criteria are in place, you can go to the left side of the page and click Test. Here, you can see how your rubric will work when grading your students. You can go to any criterion and choose an achievement level and the corresponding score.
If you find an error, you can always go back to the Criteria page and make any necessary edits. But if everything is working correctly, then your rubric is all set!
