Writing can be a very intimidating task. Even with detailed guides from our teachers, sometimes we just can’t seem to get that first sentence out.

Introducing Claro, your AI writing assistant. Claro is here to support you all throughout your writing process. Whenever you’re stuck, you can ask Claro questions, get suggestions, and even get feedback on what you’ve written so far.

On the Scribo homepage, click Open on any of your available activities. At the bottom right of the page, you should see a chat icon labelled Chat With Claro.

If this does not appear, this means your teacher has not enabled Claro for this writing activity. If you would like to chat with Claro for this activity, reach out to your teacher for this class.

However if the chat icon does appear, you can go ahead and click Chat With Claro.

When first interacting with Claro, it will introduce itself then take a look at the activity you’re working on. From here, you can ask Claro anything related to the writing activity.

For example, if you’re having trouble getting started with your essay you can ask Claro “How do I start my essay?”. Claro will then respond, giving helpful tips and suggestions on how to start. Let’s try taking Claro’s advice and write our first paragraph.

The great thing is Claro continues reading your work as you go along and gives you more specific advice based on what you’ve written so far. So now that we have our first paragraph, let’s go get Claro and ask “What should I do next?”. Once again, Claro responds with advice on how to keep your essay going.

But Claro can do more than just tell you how to start or what to do next. Let’s say you want to write this sentence in a more creative way. You can ask Claro, then it gives you some great suggestions on how to improve your work.

You can keep talking to Claro as much as you like and ask as many different questions until you’re done. But wait, Claro doesn’t stop when your essay is complete.

You can ask Claro “What do you think of my essay?” then Claro reads your entire work and tells you what you did well and how you can improve. From here you can keep revising your essay and keep asking Claro to check until you’re satisfied with the quality of your writing.

There are many more ways Claro can give you a hand such as helping you find the appropriate writing style or levelling up your vocabulary game. Go ahead, ask Claro anything you want. The possibilities are almost endless.

However, one thing you need to know about Claro is that no matter what, Claro will never write your work for you. Claro is here to help us learn how to write; not to write for us.
