From the Scribo homepage go to the right side and click on Check. You will then be presented with two options.
The first option allows you to set up an activity where Scribo can do a quick writing check using 6 basic elements of writing.
NOTE: This is a quick writing check. Once you've closed this activity, your work will not be saved
The second option however, allows you to create a more advanced activity that will allow Scribo to give you specific feedback based on what you want to improve in your writing. To get started. click Advanced Writing Check.
First, type in the title or topic you would like to write about in this activity.
Then in the box below, type out the instructions for your activity. It can be as simple or as detailed as you want.
You will also type in keywords that Scribo will look for when checking your work. Or, you can get help using Scribo’s AI in generating a few key words to start.
From here put the number of words and paragraphs you will be writing for this activity.
After that, select the writing style you want to practice, the subject you are writing for, and your current year level.
Last but not the least, you can customize the kind of feedback Scribo will give you.
You can get feedback based on rubrics your teachers have made available for you to use.
Rubrics used in old activities are not automatically available for practice activities. Your teacher decides if they will allow you to use them on your own.
If there are specific rubrics you would like to use that are not available, you can reach out to your teacher to ask for permission to use them.
You can also get feedback based on your chosen writing goal. You can choose to get overall feedback about your work, or get more specific feedback for things like paragraphs and vocabulary.
Once you’ve chosen a writing goal, you can also indicate the specific feedback you would like to learn from that goal.
There are a lot of options for writing goals and feedback to choose from so we suggest taking your time to familiarize yourself with their descriptions and choose the one that suits your needs the best.
Once you’re done, just click Save and Assign and there you go, your activity is ready. From here you can start typing out your work, or you can paste an existing work that you’ve already written somewhere else.
When you’re done writing, go to the right and click Check and the AI will start analyzing your work.
Once it’s done, you can review the different writing checks in here but also check out the comments and suggestions based on your chosen rubric and writing goal.
