From the Scribo home page you can click on Menu in the top right corner then select Manage Rubrics.
You can then choose from any of your available rubrics. Make sure to click Edit to check if all the rubric info is correct.
If everything seems to be in order, you can go to the left side and click Sharing. Here, you can set the sharing settings on your rubric.
You can tick Allow students to use this rubric in Personal Writing Check if you would like to give your students access to this rubric outside of your assigned writing activities. This is useful if you want your students to apply what they’ve learned in their other written work.
You can also tick Share this rubric with all teachers in my community so that all other teachers in your school can use this rubric. This is especially helpful for schools that have standard rubrics for each subject.
Once you've chosen your preferred settings, click on Save sharing to apply it to your rubric.
Rubrics that have been shared with the community are found in the Community Rubrics section on the left side of the page.
Here you can browse through your colleagues’ work and preview their rubrics’ content.
If you find something you like, simply go back to that rubric, click on the three dots icon and select Duplicate. This will create your own copy of that rubric. It should now appear in the My Rubrics section and be ready for use.
The best part is that since it’s your own copy of the rubric, you can make any edits or adjustments you’d like without affecting the original.
But if you’re still searching for more rubrics, Scribo’s got you covered. You can once again go to the left side of the page and click on Public Rubrics.
What you’ll find here is Scribo’s extensive library of rubrics based on standards used around the world. If you’re prepping your students for tests or writing work that use international standards, you might find exactly what you need right here.
Once again you can preview any rubric to check its contents. If you find something you like, you can select Copy to My Rubrics to save a copy in your personal library
You can also select Copy to Community Rubrics if you also want to share it with the rest of your Scribo teacher community
Once you have all the rubrics you need, you can start using them in your writing activities!
When creating or editing a writing activity go to the left and select Grading & Feedback.
Here you’ll see Grade automatically and assign a Scribo score is on by default. This is Scribo AI’s default standard in grading student work. However, if you want to use a rubric instead, you can deselect this option.
You can go down and choose which rubric you want to use. You can choose any of the rubrics found in your own library or in the community library. Select your desired rubric and click OK.
You will then be given a few more options that you can use.
You can enable Allow students to self-evaluate using the rubric if you want your students to evaluate themselves based on your rubric.
Alternatively, enable Students can AI-grade their own work against the rubric if you want to give your students access to Scribo’s AI grading feature.
You can choose either of these options but take note; you cannot choose both at the same time.
Once you’re satisfied with your selections, go to the bottom and click Save and Continue if you want to keep editing other activity info or Save and Exit to return to the home page.
There you go! You can now open the activity and open the grading rubric. You can use this to grade students yourself, or better yet, use Scribo’s AI to automatically generate rubric based feedback!
