Understanding Feedback in Different Activities (Student Experience)

Scribo Writing gives you unique writing experiences like no other. The way you answer an activity and get feedback can change depending on what your teacher thinks you need the most.

In this video, let’s learn how Scribo helps you improve your writing through unique Student Experiences

When opening an activity on Scribo Writing, you can see the feedback generated by Scribo or given by your teacher. You can use AI Writing Checks over here to learn more about your performance.

However, the kind of feedback you will be given depends on the Student Experience that your teacher has set for this activity. Your teacher decides which feedback and how much of it will best help you improve your writing.

For example, your teacher can set the student experience to Writing Check to give you as much feedback as possible. You can select an area of writing you want to check, hover over the highlighted words, then get feedback, tips, and suggestions on how to improve. You can even click on the error to get more details.

This could mean your teacher wants to give you as much guidance as possible in writing your essay.

While Writing Check is great, your teacher may also choose to limit the kind of feedback you receive. In an activity, you might hover over a highlighted error, but instead of getting detailed advice and tips, you are instead given some hints about possible mistakes in your writing.

This means your teacher has turned on Challenge mode. In this mode, you are given some feedback about where you made mistakes, but you will not get any specific suggestions on how to correct the error. You will also no longer be able to click on the errors to get more details.

Your teacher might use this setting to help you practice using your own problem solving and thinking skills in trying to improve your writing. They might want to see if you can apply the lessons you’ve learned in class. So don’t be discouraged! This just means your teacher believes in you.

For both Writing Check and Challenge mode, you might also notice that in some activities, you will have a complete set of writing checks, while in others only a few of them appear.

This means your teacher chose to turn off specific writing checks for those activities. This could mean your teacher wants you to focus on improving on these areas over anything else.

Lastly, when your teacher truly wants to test what you’ve learned about writing, they can turn on the Cold Write mode. In this setting, you will no longer get any feedback while you’re writing. You’ll have to rely on the things you learned from your teacher, from your classes, or from Scribo!

While it’s important to have necessary support when honing our writing skills, it is also important that we practice being an independent writer.

There you go! On Scribo Writing, your teacher uses these different student experiences to help you become the best writer you can be!
