Checking several lengthy essays can be challenging, especially when students are still struggling to get their point across. Having access to easy-to-understand summaries for each student's work can be helpful during long grading sessions.
Scribo Writing gives you access to a Summarize feature that quickly summarizes any student work. This is a great way to easily check if your student was able to address the prompt or answer the question you included in the activity instructions.
The Summarize feature is helpful in quickly understanding your student's message or main idea in their essay. However, by no means should it be used as the main factor in grading your students.
In a writing activity, click on Menu in the upper right corner of the writing support panel.
Among the available options, click Summarize.
Scribo will then generate a short summary of your student's work.
There you go! The Summarize feature helps teachers quickly check if a student addressed a writing prompt or answered a question correctly.
However, we highly advise still reading the entire essay when trying to properly evaluate the quality of a student's writing.
