Joining a class as a teacher

Joining and leaving classes

Teachers can join and leave classes as needed. This is useful if you are covering for another teacher, helping with a class temporarily, or with to leave a class you are no longer covering.

Open the Classes and Students screen

To manage your own classes, go to the Classes and Students screen:

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of your screen.

  2. Select Classes and Students.

Join a class

  1. Open Classes and Students.

  2. Select the Join Class tab.

  3. Search for the class you want to join.

  4. Click Join Class.

  5. Close the window.

  6. Refresh your screen.

The class will then appear in your class list, along with any current activities assigned to that class.

Leave a class

  1. Open Classes and Students.

  2. Find the class you want to leave.

  3. Click Leave Class.

  4. Refresh your screen.

The class will be removed from your view.

NOTE: Do not choose Archive unless you want to remove the class from the school’s active class list. Archiving places the class into an archived state for the school.

Community administrators: adding or removing teachers from classes

Community administrators can manage teacher class access from the Manage Teachers tab.

To add or remove a teacher from a class:

  1. Open Classes and Students.

  2. Select the Manage Teachers tab.

  3. Search for the teacher.

  4. Click the Teacher Classes icon.

  5. Search for the class.

  6. Choose Join to add the teacher to the class, or Leave to remove the teacher from the class.
