The Push Notifications & Devices page allows you to enable browser-based push notifications in Chrome, test that theyโ€™re working correctly, manage connected devices, and view a history of important system notifications like incomming customer communications and medication orders.

๐Ÿ“Œ What are Push Notifications?

Push notifications are real-time alerts that appear on your desktop (even if Scrypt HQ isnโ€™t open) to keep you informed about key activity, like:

  • ๐Ÿ“ฉ A new communication message from a patient (SMS, App, or Email)

  • ๐Ÿ›’ A new customer order has been placed.

  • โœ… System notfications that indicate oustanding actions required.

These notifications help you stay on top of customer needs without actively checking Scrypt HQ.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Setting Up Push Notifications (Chrome Only)

โš ๏ธ Push Notifications are currently supported only in Google Chrome Browsers.

  • Open the Settings Page
Navigate to Settings > Push Notifications in Scrypt HQ.

  • Step 1 - Enable Brwoser Notification permissions
Click the Test Browser Notification Ability. Youโ€™ll be prompted by Chrome to allow notifications.

    • Click "Allow" when prompted.

    • If you donโ€™t see a prompt, follow the instructions below the button to enable notification permissions for your browser.

    • You have completed this step when you see that Browser Permission Status is set to Enabled.

  • Step 2 - Add your browser (device) to allow Scrypt to send Push Notification
Use the + Add device button to ensure you have added this computers browser (aka device) everything is set up correctly. You can also use the 'Test/Test all devices' button to push a test notificaiton to your current/all connected devices.

๐Ÿ’ป Managing Connected Devices

Each browser or device where you enable notifications will appear in your Connected Devices list. You can:

  • โœ… See which devices are currently active

  • โŒ Revoke access to old or unused devices

This ensures you only get alerts on devices you still use.

๐Ÿงพ Viewing Past Notifications

You can view a log of received notifications under the Notification History section:

  • When notification was sent

  • Which Device ID it was sent to

  • The type of trigger that prompted the notifcation, e.g SMS, Order Received, Order Updated etc.

  • Message content

  • Platform: Scrypt HQ (Web), or Scrypt Mobile (Mobile)

This is helpful if you accidentally dismissed a notification or want to review recent activity.

๐Ÿงฏ Troubleshooting Tips

  • Didnโ€™t receive a test notification?

  • Using a different browser?
Currently, only Chrome is supported. Support for other browsers is coming soon.

  • Multiple browser profiles?
Push notifications are user-specific. Each different browser profile member must enable them from their own browser.

๐Ÿ’ก Best Practices

  • We recommend enabling notifications on one primary workstation per user to avoid duplicate alerts.

  • Clear out old devices regularly to keep your alerts streamlined.
