The Push Notifications & Devices page allows you to enable browser-based push notifications in Chrome, test that theyโre working correctly, manage connected devices, and view a history of important system notifications like incomming customer communications and medication orders.
๐ What are Push Notifications?
Push notifications are real-time alerts that appear on your desktop (even if Scrypt HQ isnโt open) to keep you informed about key activity, like:
๐ฉ A new communication message from a patient (SMS, App, or Email)
๐ A new customer order has been placed.
โ System notfications that indicate oustanding actions required.
These notifications help you stay on top of customer needs without actively checking Scrypt HQ.
๐ ๏ธ Setting Up Push Notifications (Chrome Only)
โ ๏ธ Push Notifications are currently supported only in Google Chrome Desktop.
Open the Settings Page
Navigate to Settings > Push Notifications in Scrypt HQ.Enable Notifications
Click the Enable Push Notifications button. Youโll be prompted by Chrome to allow notifications.Click "Allow" when prompted.
If you donโt see a prompt, check your browser permissions.
Test Notification
Use the Send Test Notification button to ensure everything is set up correctly. A test alert should appear on your desktop.
๐ป Managing Connected Devices
Each browser or device where you enable notifications will appear in your Connected Devices list. You can:
โ See which devices are currently active
โ Revoke access to old or unused devices
This ensures you only get alerts on devices you still use.
๐งพ Viewing Past Notifications
You can view a log of received notifications under the Notification History section:
๐ Filter by type (e.g. Communications, Orders)
๐ Search by date
๐๏ธ See the message details and the time received
This is helpful if you accidentally dismissed a notification or want to review recent activity.
๐งฏ Troubleshooting Tips
Didnโt receive a test notification?
Ensure Chrome has notifications enabled:
Go tochrome://settings/content/notifications
Make sure Scrypt HQ (hq.scrypt.com.au) is listed under Allowed.
Using a different browser?
Currently, only Chrome is supported. Support for other browsers is coming soon.Multiple browser profiles?
Push notifications are user-specific. Each different browser profile member must enable them from their own browser.
๐ก Best Practices
We recommend enabling notifications on one primary workstation per user to avoid duplicate alerts.
Clear out old devices regularly to keep your alerts streamlined.
