Overview
Categories help you group different types of medicines by the patterns they follow, for example PRN (when required), regular (recurring medicines), items to be packed in a dose administration aid, and medicines in original packaging.
By categorising medicines, you can automate medication management and save time on routine tasks.
Create a drug category
1. Open the drug categories page
2. Add a new category
Click Add New.
3. Enter the category details
Enter the category details as desired.
Note: Set the dispense interval to greater than 21 days to avoid Safety Net consequences. Set the target days on hand (DOH) to a value so automated dispensing is suggested until the threshold is reached.
4. Save
Click Save. Your new drug category is now available when you manually categorise each customer's medications.
5. Add more categories
Repeat steps 2 to 4 to create additional categories.
