Overview - What is a Dispense Run?
A Dispense Run is a specialised tool that prepares a batch of dispensing tasks. Reports are generated based on groups of patients and categories of medicines.
Once prepared, the medicines can be selected and automatically pushed to your dispensing queue.
Using this feature, pharmacies can efficiently identify which prescriptions need to be dispensed to guarantee that all patients have a minimum of "X" Days On Hand (DOH) for each medication.
For the example below, based on the 'SN 21 day customers' group, the report can prepare a batch of medicines in the 'Regular' category that is due for dispensing.
Benefits
The Dispense Run feature offers several benefits:
Streamlined Efficiency: Automate the generation of comprehensive lists of prescriptions due for dispensing, greatly minimising manual oversight.
Batch Dispensing: Push the entire batch to your dispense system queue, eliminating the task of extensive paper filing.
Virtual Pill Inventory Management: This feature is capable of aligning with any established Virtual Pill Inventory system by generating batches based on Days On Hand without requiring any further integrations.
Bespoke Workflow: The batches are prepared based on user-defined Groups and Categories, offering pharmacies the flexibility to integrate this feature in a manner best suited to their operations.
MedChart Efficiency: The report automatically identifies and integrates MedCharts, and inside repeats - allowing seamless transfer to the dispensing system.

Usage Instructions
Conduct regular Dispense Runs for every essential group. This preemptive approach not only keeps up with packing demand but also reduces the disruption of intermittent DAA dispensing.
In this example, observe a patient with medications set for dispensing in the report. On the left, you'll notice prescriptions identified as eRx, paper, and MedsChart, with S4D+S8 emphasised in red.
To the right, there's an option to select individual prescriptions. A single patient's medication can be dispatched individually. Alternatively, at the bottom, you can use the 'Select all' feature followed by the 'Dispense All Selected' option."
