What is a New Customer Welcome Message?
The automatic New Customer Welcome Message (NCWM) sends a personalised SMS to welcome new customers to your pharmacy. Once you turn it on, the message sends automatically, with no manual input from your team.
Benefits
Automatic: Reduces the workload on your pharmacists and dispensary team by sending welcome messages for you.
High read rates: SMS open rates are around 98%, compared with much lower open rates for channels like email.
Better first impression: A prompt, personalised welcome helps new customers feel valued from the start.
Improved retention: A low-touch, automated welcome can help improve new customer retention.
Turn on the feature
Who receives the message?
The NCWM is only sent to a new customer who meets all of the following:
A new profile was created in your dispense software.
They are over the age of 18.
They have a recorded mobile number.
Customise the message
Go to the Communication Settings page.
Click Custom Messages, then Default Messages, find New Customer Welcome Message, and click Edit.
Update the message to match your pharmacy's branding and style.
Click Submit to save the message.

Troubleshooting
The message is not sent to every new customer. A customer must meet the eligibility criteria above for the NCWM to send. If the messages sent match the criteria, no action is required.
No welcome messages are being sent. Check that Send New Customer Welcome Message automatically is turned on. If the issue continues, contact Scrypt support.
