The Evaluate tab in SeekOut Workspaces is an AI-powered candidate assessment tool that scores and ranks profiles against the custom scorecard you define during your search setup. Rather than manually reviewing each candidate, the Evaluate tab surfaces the strongest matches at a glance, with clear and explainable justifications for every score, so your team can make faster, more consistent hiring decisions.
Before You Begin: Setting Up Your Scorecard
The Evaluate tab is driven by the AI scorecard configured during the Workspaces setup wizard. Before using Evaluate, make sure you’ve completed the following steps:
Create or import your role
Start a new Workspace by pulling a role from your ATS, pasting a job description, or describing your ideal candidate in plain language.
Tip: New to Workspaces setup? See How to Use SeekOut Workspaces for a full step-by-step walkthrough.
Review your AI scorecard
At the final step of setup, Workspaces automatically generates five evaluation criteria based on your job description and your responses throughout the wizard. These criteria are phrased as Yes or No questions (for example, “Does the candidate have 5+ years of software engineering experience?”).
You can edit, add, or remove criteria at any time. If you need to update the scorecard after the search is generated, see the section Editing Your Scorecard Criteria.
Tip: Take time to review and refine your scorecard criteria before running evaluations. Well-defined criteria lead to more accurate scoring and save time downstream.
Accessing the Evaluate Tab
Navigate to the Evaluate tab at the top of your Workspace screen (located between the Search and Shortlist tabs). If you haven't submitted candidates for Evaluation yet, you can submit candidates for evaluation directly from the Search tab:
Click the three stacked dots in the toolbar above the first profile.
Select the option to run Evaluation for selected profiles or all results.
AI Credits and the Evaluate Tab
The Evaluate tab uses SeekOut's AI Credits system, as profile evaluation is an AI-powered feature.
Detail | Info |
Monthly allocation | 10,000 AI Credits per month per user |
Credit notification | Before running any evaluation, a notification will display how many credits the action will use and your remaining balance |
Note: The 10,000 monthly credit allocation is designed to be sufficient for most power users. If you have questions about credit usage, contact SeekOut Customer Support.
Understanding the Evaluate Tab Layout
Profile Rankings
Profiles in the Evaluate tab are displayed in order of ranking, with the strongest matches appearing first. Each profile displays:
A numerical score — indicates how strongly the candidate aligns with your scorecard criteria overall.
Five scorecard criteria tags — each criterion is labeled Yes, Partially, or No, showing how the candidate matches each specific requirement.
Tip: Hover over any Yes, Partially, or No tag to see a plain-language explanation of why a profile received that rating. This justification helps you quickly assess fit without opening the full profile.
Left-Side Filters: Scorecard
On the left side of the screen, you can filter candidates by each scorecard criterion. The numbers displayed in the Yes, Partially, and No boxes indicate how many candidates in your results match that criterion at each level. Use these filters to:
Focus on candidates who meet your most critical requirements.
Identify which criteria have the most or fewest matches, which may signal a need to adjust your search.
Getting More Recommendations
If you've reviewed all evaluated profiles and want to assess additional candidates, click the Get More Recommendations button at the top of the Evaluate screen.
Note: Generating additional recommendations takes a few minutes. This action uses AI Credits (see the section below on credit usage).
Shortlisting from the Evaluate Tab
As you review evaluated profiles, shortlist your top candidates directly from this tab by clicking the Shortlist button to the right of each candidate profile. Use the Remove from Shortlist button to remove candidates from your results.
Once you've identified your strongest matches, move to the Shortlist tab (next to Evaluate at the top of the screen) to review your selections and manage outreach status.
Editing Your Scorecard Criteria
Your scorecard criteria are not locked after setup. You can adjust them at any time as your understanding of the role evolves or as search results reveal gaps:
Edit criteria manually by selecting "Edit Setup" in the top right-hand corner of your Workspace Shortlist screen as shown below:
Selecting the "Edit Setup" button will bring up your scorecard section and allow you to make edits as shown below:
Adjusting criteria will affect how profiles are scored going forward and may change the ranking order in the Evaluate tab.
How Evaluated Profiles Appear in the Overview Tab
Profiles you've reviewed in the Evaluate tab feed directly into the Recommended Profiles section of the Workspace Overview tab. This gives hiring managers and team collaborators a quick, at-a-glance view of top candidates without needing to navigate into the full Evaluate tab.
To view the full details of a recommended profile, click on the profile in the Overview tab — it will take you directly to the candidate's information where you can shortlist or take further action.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of the Evaluate Tab
Refine criteria before evaluating. The more specific and accurate your scorecard, the more useful the AI scoring will be.
Use the hover justifications. The plain-language explanations behind each Yes/Partially/No tag are one of the most powerful features of the Evaluate tab — use them to quickly distinguish between candidates with similar scores.
Don't rely solely on the numerical score. A "Partially" match on a non-critical criterion shouldn't automatically disqualify a strong candidate. Use your judgment alongside the AI recommendations.
Adjust and re-evaluate. If early results aren't what you expected, adjust your scorecard criteria and use "Get More Recommendations" to broaden your evaluation pool.
Collaborate with your team. Share the Workspace with hiring managers and team members by clicking the Add Participants icon at the top of the screen. This allows the whole team to view and discuss evaluated profiles.
