A breakdown and explanation of the different UPS shipping charges that you might see on your itemised weekly invoice from Sellar

Description

Additional Handling

Applies to packages that require special handling due to size, weight, or packaging.

  • Items in metal or wood containers,

  • Cylindrical items not in a corrugated cardboard container,

  • Packages with the longest side over 100 cm or the second-longest side over 76 cm,

  • Packages weighing over 25 kg,

  • Shipments where the average weight per package exceeds 25 kg and individual weights are unspecified.

UPS also reserves the right to assess the Additional Handling Charge for any package that, in UPSโ€™s sole discretion, requires special handling.

This charge is already included in the estimated item Sellar Shipping charges.

Demand Surcharge

Demand Surcharge is applied to packages that require Additional Handling. Effective only from September 9th 2024 to January 31st 2025.

The Demand Surcharge is a flat fee per parcel in addition to existing rates, surcharges, and/or fees.

Fuel Surcharge

Variable fuel charges are applied as a percentage of your overall shipping costs. They typically apply on top of transportation and other surcharges.

This charge is already included in the estimated item Sellar Shipping charges.

Address Correction

Fee for correcting an address within the same destination country.

UK Border Fee

Fee for shipments between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Residential Delivery Surcharge

Additional charge for deliveries made to residential addresses. This is declared at the point of delivery by the UPS delivery driver.

Special Handling of Undeliverable Shipments

Charge for returning undeliverable shipments such as after too many failed delivery attempts or products that have been refused delivery by the recipient.

Extended Area and Remote Area Collection and Delivery Service

Surcharge for collections or deliveries to areas outside the normal UPS service area. The list of extended and remote areas can be found here by postcode.

Large Package Surcharge

Charge for packages with a large size-to-weight ratio.

A package is considered a "Large Package" when its length (longest side of the package) plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 300 cm, but does not exceed the maximum UPS size of 400 cm.โ€‹

Over Maximum Limits

Charge for packages exceeding UPS's maximum size or weight limits.The limits below only pertain to individual packages. There are no limits to the total weight of your shipment or the total number of packages in your shipment.

  • Packages can be up to 70 kg.

  • Packages can be up to 400 cm in length and girth combined.

  • Packages can be up to 274 cm in length.

  • Packages with a large size-to-weight ratio require special pricing and dimensional weight calculations.
