Why do we sort the items in your Sellpy bag?
When your sale starts, the first thing we do is sort the items in your bag. We want to help you sell as much as possible, and sorting is how we make sure the items we list are the ones buyers are actually looking for.
For us to list an item, it needs to:
have an estimated second hand value of €5* or more
and follow our selling guidelines
If an item does not meet these, it is not selected for sale. You will see it marked as "Too low value" or "Can probably not be sold" in your sale.
What does the sorting process look like?
When we go through the items in your Sellpy bag, we use a sorting system to determine which items will be selected for sale.
The system is based on millions of previous sales, and we have often sold identical items before. Based on the item’s type, brand, size, color, and condition, the system calculates the likelihood of it being sold.
Why is my item marked as a suspected counterfeit?
Why is my item marked as a suspected counterfeit?
At Sellpy, we only sell items we can confirm are authentic. If you believe your item is authentic, you can request a re-evaluation within 14 days through your Sellpy profile. We will then review the item again, and any supporting documentation, such as a receipt or certificate, may help with the assessment. If you cannot confirm the item's authenticity, you are able to have the item returned to you instead.
What happens to the items that will go up for sale?
After the initial sorting is completed, items move on to the next step in the process to be described, photographed and packed. During this time, the items are marked as "Processing" on your Sellpy profile.
When the listings are completed, you will be updated by email to review the listings on your Sellpy profile. You can make adjustments to the price and description. Choose if you want to publish the listing right away, otherwise they will be published automatically after 2 days.
What happens to the items that were not selected for sale?
As soon as the sorting of your bag is completed, you will be notified to review the results via your Sellpy profile. You will see the reason why items were not selected for sale.
You can either:
Ask us to take a second look at them
Choose whether to have the items sent back to you
What happens if you do nothing?
If we don’t hear from you within 5 days, the items will be sent to our partner for reuse. In case your item is flagged for authenticity issues, you'll have 14 days to request a re-evaluation and submit proof of authenticity.
What if I want an item listed anyway?
If you'd still like us to try and sell your item, you send a request through your Sellpy profile.
For items marked as "Too low value”, you can:
Ask us to sell the item anyway. We will prepare the listing for publishing, unless we notice something new about the item that makes us unable to sell it. In that case, you will have chosen already if you want to get the item back or have it sent to our reuse partners.
For items marked as "Can probably not be sold”, you can:
Submit a re-evaluation request and provide supporting information. You can choose whether you’d like the item returned to you or sent for reuse if it’s not selected for sale after the re-evaluation.
If all items that were previously not selected are put up for sale and no items are sent back, we will refund you the shipping cost automatically.
How do I request a return of items not selected for sale?
If you’d like to get your items back, you send a request through your Sellpy profile.
Log into your Sellpy profile,
Go to "My sales," and click on the sale in question,
Find the item listed under "Too low value" or "Can probably not be sold”,
Click on “I want the item back”,
Provide the reason explaining why,
Click "to payment",
Complete purchase.
You can select multiple items to be returned to you at the same time. A fixed shipping fee applies, covering all items you request back from that same sale (you are not charged return cost per item). You'll receive an email as soon as items are dispatched from the warehouse.
