How are my items sorted for sale?

All items valued at 5 EUR or more will go up for sale. You can choose to have rejected items returned, re-evaluated or donated within 3 days

Updated yesterday

We evaluate each item you packed in the Sellpy bag, to see which items should go up for sale. Items that are not being put up for sale are marked as rejected. You can review the sorting via your Sellpy profile and within 3 days choose if you want the rejected items to be returned, re-evaluated or donated to charity.

How are the items in my Sellpy bag sorted?

When we go through the items in your Sellpy bag, we use a sorting system to determine which items will move forward to sale. The system is based on millions of previous sales, and we have often sold identical items before. Based on the item’s type, brand, size, color, and condition, the system calculates the likelihood of it being sold. Items with an estimated resale value of over 5 EUR* will proceed to sale.

Why are only items valued at 5 EUR* or more posted for sale?

The reason why we evaluate each item’s second hand value is because we only want to publish ads for items that we believe will be sold.

Why is my item rejected as a suspected counterfeit?

We understand that it can be disappointing to receive a notice that an item has been sorted out. At Sellpy, we only sell items whose authenticity we can guarantee. If we are uncertain, we unfortunately need to sort out the item to avoid the risk of selling a counterfeit.

If you have proof of authenticity, such as a receipt or certificate, you are welcome to request a re-evaluation within 7 days through your Sellpy profile. We will then review the item again. If you do not have any documentation, you can instead choose to have the item returned to you.

What happens to the items that will go up for sale?

After the initial sorting is completed, items move on to the next step in the process to be described, photographed and packed. During this time, the items are marked as "Processing" on your Sellpy profile.

When the ads are completed, you are updated by email and can review the ads on your Sellpy profile. You can make adjustments to the price and description. Choose if you want to publish the ads right away, after 3 days they will be published automatically.

What happens to my rejected items?

If the system judges an item to be valued as less than 5 EUR, considered not to be in good condition or unsellable according to Sellpy's guidelines, they are marked as "rejected".

As soon as the sorting of your bag is completed, you are notified, you can review the sorting via your Sellpy profile. Here you can see the reason why items might be marked as rejected. Within 3 days you have the option to choose if you want the rejected items to be returned or re-evaluated. If you don’t select an option, the rejected items are donated to charity or recycled.

How do I request re-evaluation of rejected items?

If you are not satisfied with Sellpy’s sorting, you can request a re-evaluation of rejected items within 3 days via your Sellpy profile. For items rejected due to brandy copy or trademark infringement, the time to ask for re-evaluation is 7 days. The items will be reviewed again and either put up for sale - or rejected again and donated to charity.

You can add the option to have items returned if they are rejected again after the re-evaluation. A return fee of 4.99 EUR* will be charged when submitting your re-evaluation request. The return fee covers all rejected items from the same sale. If you want several items to be re-evaluated or returned, you need to submit one request per rejected item.

If all rejected items are put up for sale and no items are sent back, we will refund you the shipping cost automatically after 14 days.

How do I request a return of rejected items?

When we have finished the sorting of your Sellpy bag, you as a seller can request to have rejected items returned within 3 days via your Sellpy profile.

You can get your rejected items back by:

  1. Go to "My sales" and select the sale in question via your Sellpy profile, or follow the link in the email that informs you about the rejected items.

  2. Click on the “Rejected ” category.

  3. Click on the ad you want to have sent back.

  4. Then select one of the two options “Send back” or “Request reevaluation”.

When you have chosen the option to have the item returned, you pay a fixed shipping cost. This cost covers all rejected items in the same sale that you want us to send back to you. If you want to return more rejected items, you pay the shipping cost for the first item and then carry on by selecting the remaining items that you want returned.
