How do I recycle?

Feel free to shop and sell with Sellpy, but also recycle what can no longer be sold or reused elsewhere.

Bags made out of plastic

By ensuring that all plastic items get to live a long life, we can reduce our environmental impact. We recommend recycling materials correctly and sorting E-commerce bags as plastic packaging. Recycle it properly instead of throwing it in the trash. Plastic can be recycled up to 10 times before it loses its capacity. Amazing right? If you return something to Sellpy, you can send your E-commerce bags from Sellpy in the package, then we can recycle the plastic properly for you.

Clothes

The best thing you can do to respect your clothes and save the earth's resources is to use, reuse, give away or repair. If you bought a garment from Sellpy that is broken and can not be saved, we are really sorry! Of course you have the right to register a complaint about this. If you do not need to send the item in return, please recycle it correctly.

We recommend that you hand in worn-out clothes to one of the major fashion chains that accept clothes for reuse and recycling, including H&M. As there are currently no large-scale methods for recycling clothes chemically (when a sweater becomes a new sweater), clothing recycling means that clothes go through "downcycling" and become new products through mechanical recycling. Your worn-out sweater is then broken down into smaller components and becomes, among other things, filling material, insulation and rags.

Porcelain & glass

These categories of waste are counted as non-combustible and smaller parts (a coffee cup, a small broken pot, a glass) can be thrown in the household waste. Larger items are sorted in the non-combustible container at the recycling station. It is important that porcelain, interior details in glass or drinking glass are not sorted as glass packaging, as the material composition is completely different. In these cases the remaining fragments can not be recycled.
