What happens to items that can’t be sold?
We make sure nothing goes to waste. If an item is deemed unsuitable for sale, it is instead sent to our recycling partner, Looper Textile Co. There, the textiles are sorted and processed according to the EU waste hierarchy. This means they are primarily reused, and secondarily recycled into new textile or fiber products. This is done in exchange for a small compensation per kilo, which partially covers our administrative costs.
What do reuse and recycling mean?
Reuse means that items can be used again in their current form — for example, by being donated to charity. Recycling involves breaking down textile materials to create new products. By collaborating with specialized partners, we ensure that the materials are given a new life to the greatest extent possible.

What happens to items that don’t get sold?
Items that are listed for sale but don’t find a new home still serve a purpose. They are donated to our charity partner, Ubrania Do Oddania, which ensures they reach people in need through various charitable initiatives.
Unfortunately, UDO doesn’t have a website in other languages, but you can use your browser’s translation function to read more here.
Donate your sales share
When you sell with Sellpy, you can choose to donate all or part of your share of the sales to one of our charity partners (for eg. Stockholms Stadsmission, SOS Children’s Villages, Save the Children, Animal Rights Sweden, or Sweden for UNHCR). You can also set up automatic donations to always contribute your sales sales to a selected charity - an easy way to make a difference.
