How to reclaim an overpayment on my 3a account?

If you've paid more than the permitted amount into your pillar 3a, you must ask for the money back.

Have you paid more than the yearly permitted amount into your pillar 3a? Follow our instructions to get your money back hassle-free.

My excess payment was made less than 30 days ago

If you have overpaid into your pillar 3a account, you have 30 days to easily reclaim your payment.

  1. Write a letter to VZ. Make sure to include in your letter:

    1. the reason you are asking for your money back

    2. your full name

    3. your full address

    4. the overpaid amount

    5. the details of the account where the excess money should be transferred (IBAN/account holder)

  2. Send your letter to the following address:

    VZ Vorsorgestiftung 3a

    Stiftungsadministration / TAS

    Gotthardstrasse 6

    8002 Zürich

My excess payment was made more than 30 days ago

If your deposit was made more than 30 days ago, you will have to wait for a confirmation from the tax authorities that you have overpaid. Once you have this confirmation, you can claim the amount back.

To claim your money back, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Download this document, fill it out, print it and sign it by hand.

  2. Attach a copy of the letter from the tax office.

  3. Send everything to VZ:

    VZ Vorsorgestiftung 3a

    Stiftungsadministration / TAS

    Gotthardstrasse 6

    8002 Zürich

As soon as VZ receives the documents, it will return the money to the original account.
