The 5 percent Rule is our exception to our admissions requirements. To ensure that we accept well-qualified students, Westminster allows an exception for a limited number of applicants each year in the MDiv, MAC, DMin, and Certificate programs. All exceptions are granted on an individual basis.
To qualify for admission in the MDiv or Certificate programs, students must meet all of the following criteria:
Be at least 30 years old
Have at least 5 years of ministry experience
Have completed a minimum of 60 undergraduate-level academic credits when applying for the MDiv or 30 credits when applying for the Certificate program
To see if you qualify for admission for the online MAC program, check out this article!
There are also exceptions to the DMin program, so visit this article to read these specific exclusions and/or limitations.
At the discretion of the admissions review committee, an applicant may be admitted to a degree program for one year on provisional status. After one year, if the student wishes to continue studies at Westminster, the committee will then review the student’s transcripts, and, if required, any updated application materials, and will make a determination regarding full admittance to the degree program.
