How can I transfer my organization Ownership to another user?

Issue

I am the organization Owner and I need to transfer the ownership of the organization to another user.

How do I do that?

Post-Transfer Management

After transferring ownership, consider performing post-transfer cleanup tasks such as removing the previous owner or updating member roles. For detailed steps, refer to the "Removing a Previous Owner" section below.


As the current Owner of the org, you have the permission to invite new users as Owners, or change users' role (such as transferring the ownership) from the Members page.

If the user to whom you want to transfer the Ownership is already an org. member, you can change their role by clicking on their user name (from Members page) and choosing Owner:

And then clicking on "save member"


If the user is not yet a member, please send them an invitation from the Members page to join the org as an Owner. You can refer to our article How do I add members to my organization?

They will need to check their email and follow the flow to join the org.

For paid plans, we recommend having more than one Owner, just in case one of the owners is unavailable.
