How do I sign up for Sentz?

Sentz is available for download in 180 countries and all you need is a phone number and email address to create a wallet. Sign up for free on the Apple App Store or Android Play Store.

What is eUSD?

How do I secure my Sentz wallet?

Sentz is a self-custodial wallet, meaning you own and control your funds—just like a physical wallet in your pocket, but digital. Unlike a bank account, no one else, not even Sentz, has access to your funds.

— Your Security, Your Control

Keeping your funds safe is our top priority. By staying informed, you can take full control of your wallet.

  1. Your PIN: When you create your wallet, you’ll set a PIN. This PIN is essential—remember it! If you lose your phone, you can restore your wallet by verifying your phone number, email, and entering your PIN on a new device.

  2. Your 24-Word Secret Phrase:

    • Think of this as the master key to your wallet and funds. It’s unique to you, and even Sentz doesn’t have access to it.

    • If you forget your PIN, you can use this phrase to recover your wallet.

    • During sign-up, we’ll prompt you to back up your secret phrase. If you skip this step, you can back it up later by going to Profile > Privacy and Security > Backup.

What is self-custody?

At Sentz, we put you in charge of your funds with self-custody. Unlike a bank, where the institution manages access to your account, you are the sole owner of your Sentz wallet and funds. Think of it like the wallet in your pocket—only you control it, and it’s your responsibility to keep it safe. The same goes for your Sentz wallet!

With full ownership comes the responsibility of securing your wallet, starting with backing up your 24-Word Recovery Phrase. This phrase is the key to regaining access to your funds if you lose your device.

What is a 24-Word Secret Phrase?

Your 24-Word Secret Phrase (or Seed Phrase) is your wallet's backup plan and the only way to access your funds if you forget your PIN or lose your device. It’s a unique set of randomly generated words that acts as the “master key” to your wallet.

  • What is it? Your 24-Word Recovery Phrase is a unique, randomly generated set of words that serves as a backup for your wallet. You'll see this phrase when you create your Sentz wallet. If you need to access it later, simply go to Settings > Privacy and Security in the app.

  • Who has access? Only you! Sentz doesn’t store or have access to your 24 words.

  • Why does it matter? If you lose or forget your 24 words, you won’t be able to recover your wallet, and there will be no way for Sentz to help.

How Can I Keep My 24-Words Secure?

To Keep Your 24 Words Secure, follow these 3 principles:

  1. Cloud Backup: Use the app’s cloud backup feature found in Settings > Privacy and Security.

  2. Write It Down: Store your phrase on paper in a safe & secure place. 🔐

  3. Password Manager: Save it in a trusted password manager for extra security.

Important: Never share your 24 words. Anyone with access to them can control your funds.

Are payments private on Sentz?

Yes, peer-to-peer payments in the Sentz app are private with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only you and your recipient can view the transaction details.

Unlike most cryptocurrencies that use public ledgers, eUSD transactions remain secure and confidential. Your financial information—such as earnings, spending, and transfers—stays private. This privacy protects you from potential risks like fraud, theft, or discrimination, giving you both security and peace of mind.

What is MOB?

The MobileCoin token (MOB) is designed to offer fast, secure, and private transactions. With a focus on user privacy, MOB is ideal for those looking to make transactions without compromising on speed or security. You can make payments using MOB on Sentz or in Signal, the messenger app.

How can I fund my account on Sentz using Stablecoins?

It's super easy to deposit or fund your Sentz wallet. You can fund by sending stablecoins (USDT or USDC) from external wallets or exchanges or depositing from your bank or credit/debit card. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Open Sentz and Navigate to 'Fund':

    • Launch the Sentz app.

    • Select the 'Fund' option on the home screen.

  2. Choose 'Using Other Stablecoins':

    • Select the 'Using Other Stablecoins' option.

  3. Select USDT or USDC:

    • Tap on either 'USDT' or 'USDC' to proceed.

  4. Choose the Network:

    • For USDT, you can send funds via the TRON or Polygon networks.

    • For USDC, you can only send funds via the Polygon network.

  5. Copy the Deposit Address:

    • Click on your chosen stablecoin (USDT or USDC).

    • Copy the provided deposit wallet address for the network that matches your external wallet.

  6. Send Funds from External Wallet:

    • Paste the copied deposit address into your external wallet or exchange.

    • Crucially, double-check that you are using the same network on both Sentz and your external wallet.

    • Send your USDT or USDC to the Sentz deposit address.

  7. Keep Sentz App Open:

    • Keep the Sentz app open for at least 120 seconds while the transaction is processing. (Keeping the Sentz app open during the conversion process helps achieve quicker settlements.)

    • Once the USDT or USDC is received, it will automatically be converted to eUSD and reflected in your eUSD balance on the Sentz home screen.

How can I fund my account on Sentz using Bank Transfer?

You can fund your Sentz wallet using a direct bank transfer in Nigeria by following these steps:

  1. Tap 'Deposit':

    • Open your Sentz app and tap on the 'Deposit' button on the homepage.

  2. Select 'Using Local Currency':

    • Choose 'Using Local Currency' and then select the 'Direct Bank Transfer' option.

  3. Enter Deposit Amount:

    • Enter the amount you wish to deposit.

  4. Complete KYC:

    • Fill out the required information in the KYC form and tap 'Continue'.

  5. Enter Bank Details:

    • Provide your correct bank details and personal information, ensuring the bank name and account number match your KYC information.

  6. Tap 'Fund':

    • Click the 'Fund' button.

  7. Note Transfer Details:

    • The next page will display the bank account information, the exact amount to send, and the payment reference description.

  8. Make the Transfer:

    • Use your personal bank app (not a third-party account) to make the transfer using the provided details and ensure you double-check that everything is correct.

  9. Confirm Transfer:

    • After completing the transfer, return to the Sentz app and tap "I've sent funds."

Your deposit should be credited to your Sentz account within 3-5 minutes.
