How to find a meta description
How to find a meta description
Updated over a year ago

The meta description is the short snippet of text you see under a webpage in the Search Engine Results Page. This snippet is generally used to summarise the content on the page and give users an idea of what they can expect to find.

Follow the steps listed below to find out what your pages meta description is:

  1. Open up the page in question

  2. Right click

  3. Click on ‘inspect’

  4. If you’re using a Mac, do Command+F and if you’re using Windows, do Ctrl+F

  5. Type <meta name="description into the search bar

Tip: If this doesn't work, try typing description (by itself) into the search bar instead.

This will then highlight the meta description for your page.
