When completing onsite actions, you’ll often be asked to ‘add in a keyword exactly’. The platform then gives you the freedom to choose which keyword you think would be most suitable to add in exactly.

Here are a few tips to decide which keyword you should add exactly to your title tag and H1 heading:

Can you fit it in naturally?

This one is extremely important to your SEO!

You want to be able to fit your keyword into your content naturally. If you’re struggling to do this, we’d advise that you find a different keyword.

Following this advice will help avoid ‘keyword stuffing’ (the practice of loading a webpage with keywords in an unnatural manner). Google has been known to penalise websites for keyword stuffing, which will negatively impact your SEO.

Keep an eye on your Keyword Sitemap!

When choosing the best keyword to add exactly to your metadata, you’ll want to have a look at your sitemap.

We recommend choosing the keyword with the highest search volume and lowest difficulty.

  • Having a low or medium difficulty should make it easier to reach the top positions in Google.

  • Having a high search volume should help bring in more website traffic once you’ve reached those top spots, as more people are searching for these keywords.

Note: It probably goes without saying, but you’ll also want to make sure that the keyword you choose is very relevant to the content on the page!
