When completing onsite actions, you’ll often be asked to ‘Include your target keywords".
Here are a few tips to decide which keywords you should add to your title tag, meta description and H1 heading:
Can you fit it in naturally?
This one is extremely important to your SEO!
You want to be able to fit your keywords into your content naturally.
Following this advice will help avoid ‘keyword stuffing’ (the practice of loading a webpage with keywords in an unnatural manner). Google has been known to penalise websites for keyword stuffing, which will negatively impact your SEO.
Keep an eye on your Keyword Sitemap!
When choosing the best keywords to add to your metadata, you’ll want to have a look at your sitemap.
We recommend choosing the keywords with the highest search volume and lowest difficulty.
Having a low or medium difficulty should make it easier to reach the top positions in Google.
Having a high search volume should help bring in more website traffic once you’ve reached those top spots, as more people are searching for these keywords.
Note: It probably goes without saying, but you’ll also want to make sure that the keywords you choose are very relevant to the content on the page!
