One of the factors that determines where you’ll be ranking in Google is the copy on your page. Google analyses the copy on your page to determine where you should be ranking.
This action ‘We ran your content through Google's content tool - time to improve your copy!’ has been designed to help you improve the content on your pages, and naturally integrate keywords.
When content includes the target keywords, it’s more likely to rank higher in Google for those keywords.
However, it’s essential to use keywords in a natural and meaningful way. You want to avoid ‘Keyword Stuffing’ - this is where you overload your content with keywords, without providing any value!
Keyword stuffing can lead to a poor user experience and may be penalised by Google.
Here are the steps you’ll need to take to complete this action:
Scroll down to where it says ‘Natural Language API demo’.
In the text box underneath titled ‘try the API’, you’ll want to delete all of the words currently in the text box.
Next, you’ll want to open up the page you want to improve the copy of.
Right-click and click ‘inspect’
If you’re on a Mac, do Command+F, if you’re on Windows, do Ctrl+F
Type:

You should notice that segments of text on your page are now highlighted.
Copy and paste each of these segments into the ‘try the API’ box you initially navigated to. (Note: You must add every segment of
text on your page - this is important!)
Finally, click ‘Analyse’
Your text will now be analysed, and all of the keywords found in your text should be shown underneath.
Each of your keywords will be given a ‘salience score’.
All of the keywords assigned to your page must have a salience score of 0.02 or above. A score of 0.02 and above should show Google that these keywords are relevant to your page.
Look back at the action in the platform and take note of the words under the title ‘Entities Not Found - Action Needed!’.
You should find that the words here should correlate to the keywords with a salience score under 0.02.
Note:
Sometimes you may find that there is an entity you have been told to add, however it already has a salience score of 0.02 or above when combined with another word.
If this is the case, you don’t need to do anything!
How can you improve your content and the salience score of each entity?
This is where you’re going to need to start altering your content.
Generally, the higher up words are in your text, the higher their salience score will be. You’ll need to think creatively about how you can naturally add each word into your text, as high up as possible.
This is often a game of trial and error, where you’ll need to keep analysing the text to see if the salience score has changed - view it as a puzzle.
Once you’ve managed to get all the missing entities to a salience score of 0.02 or higher, it’s time to go back to the action and click ‘complete’.
