Two Ways Fans Can Unlock Content on Serenade Smart Formats

It’s important to choose how your audience accesses content on your Smart Format in a way that aligns with your release strategy. Serenade offers two sign-in options for fans when they tap their product. Both are valid approaches, each with unique benefits.

Option 1: Sign-In Required

If you select ‘Yes’ in the customer portal, fans will need to sign in after tapping their Smart Format to access the digital content. They can either:

  • Enter their email address, or

  • Use Google email authorisation.

If they already have a Serenade account, the product will be automatically added. If not, a new account will be created and linked to their content.

Benefits of Option 1:

  • As the rightsholder, you’ll gain access to fan email data (where consent is given).

  • Builds a stronger, ongoing fan relationship through repeat access to content.

  • Useful for building marketing lists and future engagement.

Option 2: One-Tap Access

If you select ‘No’ in the portal, fans can unlock their content instantly after tapping—no sign-in required. The content is automatically tied to their device and can only be accessed by them.

If they later want to use another device, they simply click ‘Claim’ while viewing the content, and create or log into a Serenade account. Their content will then be saved to their profile.

Benefits of Option 2:

  • The fastest, most seamless fan experience.

  • Encourages immediate access, which can help boost redemption rates.

  • For chart-eligible releases, this can mean smoother and quicker accreditation.

Which Option Should You Choose?

  • Go with Option 1 (Sign-In Required) if your priority is collecting fan data and building deeper, long-term engagement.

  • Go with Option 2 (One-Tap Access) if your priority is speed, convenience, and maximising first-week chart activity.

Both routes give fans a premium experience while allowing you to tailor access in line with your release goals.
