How does the overtime request work?

To ensure fair and accurate compensation for veterinarians, we've introduced the Overtime Request feature. When veterinarians work beyond their scheduled hours, they can submit an overtime request for your review.

As a hospital, you can review these requests and decide whether to approve or dispute them before finalizing payment for shifts. This process helps maintain transparency while ensuring that veterinarians are properly compensated for their time.

Below, we’ll guide you through how to manage and finalize overtime requests.

How do I review the overtime request?

If a veterinarian's actual worked hours exceed their scheduled shift hours, they may request additional payment for overtime. To review an overtime request, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Shift Management page.

  2. Once a shift is completed and requires finalization, it will be highlighted in purple on the calendar.

  3. Click on the shift that needs to be finalized.

  4. If a veterinarian has requested overtime, the shift sidebar will display the details of the requested overtime, including the number of hours and minutes.

  5. The system automatically calculates the final payment, ensuring a fair and transparent process. The overtime compensation amount will be included in the total cost breakdown.

  6. If you agree with the overtime request, click the "Finalize" button when you are ready.

The veterinarian's compensation, including overtime pay, is now finalized.

How do I dispute the overtime request?

If it is required to dispute the overtime payment request made before the shift finalization, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Shift Management page.

  2. Click on the unfinalized shift with the overtime request made;

  3. On the shift sidebar, click the "Dispute Overtime" button next to overtime request details.

  4. The system will open the messenger and generate an automatic message text with the details of the shift for which you want to dispute the overtime request.

  5. Click to send that message.
