How do I use the Average Cost in Area and Predictability Score features?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Serenity Vet helps clinics make more informed, strategic staffing decisions. With our new Average Cost in Area and Predictability Score tools, US-based clinics can gain real-time insights into their local relief market and improve their chances of successfully filling shifts.

Whether you're posting a one-time shift or planning recurring coverage, these features bring added clarity and confidence to your scheduling process.

What is the Average Cost in Area feature?

Setting the right rate is key to attracting quality veterinarians. The Average Cost in Area feature gives you instant visibility into what other clinics in your area are paying for relief shifts.

Here’s how the Average Cost in Area works:

  • Instant Market Context: As you create a shift, you’ll see the average cost per shift in your local area, based on what other clinics in your area are paying for relief work.

  • Location-Based Data: The average cost shows the real relief shift activity in your area—no guesswork needed.

  • Informed Rate Setting: With local benchmarks in hand, you can set a competitive and fair rate that aligns with your clinic’s budget and the market’s expectations.

💡 You’ll find this data in the Payment Info section of the Add Shift form while creating a shift from the Schedule page.

What is the Predictability Score?

The Predictability Score helps you understand how likely your shift is to be filled before you even post it. This real-time score changes dynamically as you adjust your shift details, helping you optimize your chances of securing a veterinarian.

Here’s how the Predictability Score works:

  • Dynamic Rating: The Predictability Score is updated instantly based on your shift parameters.

  • Instant Feedback: Make changes to your cost, start time, shift type, or flexibility, and watch the score adjust in real time.

  • Multi-Factor Analysis: The score considers multiple factors, including:

    • Your rate vs. the average in your area

    • Shift complexity (Dentistry, Surgery, emergency coverage)

    • Time and date of the shift

    • Geographic demand and competition in your region

📈 Higher score = higher likelihood of being filled quickly.

💡 You’ll find this data at the bottom of the Add Shift form while creating a shift from the Schedule page.

Why do these features matter?

Both tools are designed to help you post smarter, not harder.

  • Attract top-tier relief vets by offering competitive, market-aligned rates.

  • Avoid costly delays or re-posting by knowing your fill likelihood in advance.

  • Plan proactively and build a more stable, predictable staffing pipeline.

These features are part of Serenity Vet’s commitment to transparency and efficiency, giving your clinic the insights needed to book with confidence.

We hope this information helps you post shifts more effectively. If you have questions or need further support, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re always here to help.
