How do I post a shift by duplicating an existing one?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If you frequently post similar shifts, Serenity Vet makes it easy to save time by duplicating an existing shift instead of creating one from scratch. This feature allows you to copy all the key details of a previously posted shift while giving you flexibility to make adjustments before publishing.

Please follow these steps to duplicate a shift:

Duplicate from the Shift Sidebar

  • Navigate to the Schedule or the Dashboard pages and click on a shift.

  • In the shift sidebar, click the Duplicate Shift button.

  • The Duplicated Shift form will open, pre-filled with all details from the original shift (except the date and recurrence, which you must select).

    • If the original shift was part of a recurring series, recurrence settings will not carry over.

    • If the original shift included a negotiated price, the original cost will be duplicated.

  • Set a new date and recurrence pattern for the duplicated shift.

  • Adjust any shift details as needed.

  • Once you are satisfied with the details, click Publish.

Duplicate from the “Post a Shift” button

  • On both the Schedule page and the Dashboard header, the Post a Shift button includes two options:

    • Duplicate Last Shift – opens a Duplicated Shift form pre-filled with the details of your most recently posted shift.

    • Create New – opens a blank Add Shift form.

  • If your clinic has not posted any shifts yet, the “Post a Shift” button will open a blank Add Shift form by default.

Duplicate from the Shift Posted confirmation pop-up

  • After publishing a shift, you will see a Shift posted! confirmation pop-up.

  • Click Post Another to open a pre-filled Add Shift form with details from the last shift you posted.

  • Click Done to close the pop-up and remain on your current page.

Using the duplicate feature helps you post recurring or similar shifts in just a few clicks, eliminating the need to re-enter information manually each time.
