When will I receive payment for a completed shift?

Updated over 3 months ago

At Serenity Vet, we partner with Stripe, a secure and industry-leading payment processor, to make sure all payments for your completed shifts are safe, fast, and reliable. Stripe keeps your financial information fully protected while enabling automatic payments directly to your bank account.

This article explains how payments work and the timelines you can expect.

How do I start payment processing?

To receive payment, both you and the clinic must finalize the shift after completing it:

  • After completing a shift, you must finalize it in the platform.

  • Finalizing your shift allows you to request overtime pay, if required. To learn how to finalize a shift, check this article.

  • It also notifies the clinic so they can review and finalize the shift, approving your payment.

  • Payments are only processed after the clinic finalizes your shift.

  • You will receive a “Your Shift is Finalized! 🎉” notification in the app and via email once the shift is finalized on the clinic side.

What is the payment processing timeline?

Once both you and the clinic have finalized a shift, Stripe begins processing your payment. The timeline below shows what you can typically expect for first and following payments:

  • First payment: Usually processed within 5–7 business days after the clinic finalizes the shift due to Stripe’s initial security checks.

  • Following payments: Typically processed within 1–2 business days after shift finalization by the clinic.

  • Weekends or holidays may slightly affect timing, but most payments are received within the stated business-day windows.

  • Important: Count the timeline from the moment the clinic finalizes the shift, not when you completed it.

What should I do if my payment is delayed?

If your payment exceeds the expected timeline, please contact Serenity Vet support via messenger. We will contact the clinic side if necessary, monitor the transaction, and ensure your payment is processed promptly.
