Welcome to the new look!

The new design is here! We are excited to announce the latest update to the Service Geeni platform is a brand-new look and feel, including a completely redesigned navigation bar.

This update not only makes the platform more visually pleasing but also much easier to use. The newly designed user interface (UI) enhances the user experience and brings a modern, cohesive look to the entire system.

Below is a list to address some of the main questions you might be asking.

1. What are the main benefits of the new UI?

The new UI offers a visually appealing design that is easier on the eyes, more readable, intuitive for navigation, simpler to understand, and customisable for individual user preferences.

2. How has the colour scheme changed?

We’ve updated our colour palette to reduce eye strain and improve readability, creating a more pleasant working environment.

3. What improvements have been made for readability & accessibility?

We’ve increased the contrast between text and background and enlarged font sizes in several areas. This makes it easier for you to read important information at a glance. We’ve also designed clearer visual hierarchies which helps if you’ve got a visual impairment.

4. How is navigation different in the new UI?

We have moved the menu to the left-hand side of the screen for easier access. We’ve also added sub-modules that appear on hover, which means you can navigate around the tool quickly and easily, and always see which part of the system you are currently in.

5. Where are my User settings?

User settings have been relocated to the “My Account” section, which can be found at the bottom of the left navigation menu.

6. Can I customise the navigation bar?

Yes! You can expand and collapse the navigation bar and add frequently used sub-modules to your "Favourites" section for quicker access.

7. How do I change Branches?

Easily! The Branch feature has been moved out of the settings and now lives under the Service Geeni logo at the top of the left navigation menu. You can change the branch by selecting the dropdown next to the current branch name. On the dashboard, the currently selected branch is displayed in green, making it easy to identify at a glance.

8. Why are some names different?

We’ve simplified the names of some parts of the system to make it clearer what they do. Here are the modules and submodules which have been renamed:

  • Customer is now Records.

  • Customer and Site Enquiry is now Customer and Site Records.

  • Equipment Enquiry is now Equipment Records.

  • Tool Enquiry is now Tool Records.

  • TCC Enquiry is now Forms Enquiry.

  • Equipment Deal Enquiry is now Equipment Deal Records.

  • Stock Enquiry is now Stock Records.

  • Miscellaneous Items Enquiry is now Miscellaneous Items.

  • Purchase Enquiry & Stock Purchasing is now Purchase Records.

  • Timesheet is now Engineer Timesheets.

9. Are there any features to help with communication management?

Yes, we’ve introduced an unread message indicator and streamlined the notifications panel, making it easier to stay on top of communications.

10. What has been done to help new users understand the platform?

We’ve restyled buttons and icons for clarity, added more tooltips for guidance, simplified module names, and improved the display of actionable messages.

The Help Geeni feature has evolved into a neat interactive assistant - connecting you to our Knowledge base, Support Portal, Success Portal and Messaging service.

Hiccups!

With big changes, there are likely to be some teething issues. We're aware of 3 possible issues you might face:

1. User permissions are not as expected.

  • Symptoms: The user is not able to see certain modules.

  • How to fix: Check the user permissions via the system screen, from there you should be able to fix any issues yourself.

2. Visual anomalies on the layout for a single user.

  • Symptoms: You might notice visual anomalies or artefacts on the screen. The home page may not behave properly, affecting a single user on the system.

  • How to fix: Try to refresh the browser cache.

3. Visual anomalies on the layout for multiple users.

  • Symptoms: You might notice visual anomalies or artefacts on the screen. The home page may not behave properly, affecting multiple users on the system.

  • How to fix: In this situation, please speak to Customer Support.
