These certified documents will need to be brought into a Service Oklahoma facility:

  • Primary ID or US Citizenship

  • 2 proofs of Oklahoma residency

  • DOT Medical Card (if applicable)

  • Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Completion Certificate — Required only for HAZMAT or prior to taking your skills test

An Examiner will review your documents and start your application for CDL testing. If you qualify, the Examiner will set you up for the proper written tests.

Upon passing all written tests, you will be given a CDL Permit (CLP) which will be good for 1 year. You must hold your CLP for a minimum of 14 days before you are eligible to take your driving skills test. Once your 14 days are up, you can come in and take your skills test. Upon passing your skills test, your CDL will be issued to you.

Note:

  • Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) may be exempt if you have previously held a CDL.

  • ELDT is also not required to remove air brake restriction or auto transmission.
